Outlook
Seal a sentence or a file from the compose window. Your message carries a link. The protected part never sits in a mailbox.
Planned. The Outlook integration is not built yet. This page shows how it will work. Names and logos belong to their owners, and gotin is not affiliated with or endorsed by them.
The one sentence that should not sit in a mailbox.
Ana has to send a client new account details. The greeting can travel as email. The account number should not sit in two mailboxes for years.
Open the gotin pane
A button in the compose window opens it beside your message.
Type the text or pick the file in the pane
Not in the email itself. Outlook saves a draft to your mail server while you write, so anything typed there has already left your device.
The email gets a link
The text or file is sealed on your device. Your message carries the link.
Dana opens it
With a passkey on her own device, or with her team key if her firm uses gotin.
The mailbox gets the message. Not the protected part.
Every mailbox the message passes through.
What Outlook and the mail servers hold
- Your greeting and the rest of the message
- A link
- The time the email was sent
What they never hold
- The protected text or file
- A draft of it
- A key that opens it
The protected part is sealed here. Only the sealed copy leaves, and it goes to gotin, not to the mailbox.
Two ways to protect what you send.
Both use the same published algorithms. The choice is how the recipient opens the file.
Passkey
For anyone. The recipient opens the link with a passkey on their own device. The first open binds the link to that passkey.
Passkey secret + XChaCha20-Poly1305Recipient key
For a recipient who uses gotin. The file is sealed to their team key, so there is nothing to share but the link.
X-Wing (ML-KEM-768 + X25519) + XChaCha20-Poly1305A page from gotin, inside Outlook.
The gotin frame
The pane is a page from gotin shown inside Outlook. Your keys stay in it, in your browser.
Outlook's script stays outside
Outlook needs its own script to add a button. That script runs in an outer page. The page that holds your keys never loads it.
After sending
Planned once sending is built. gotin opens with receiving first.
