OneDrive and
SharePoint
Save an opened file to OneDrive or SharePoint from your browser. It goes from your device to Microsoft, not through us.
Planned. The OneDrive and SharePoint integration is not built yet. This page shows how it will work. Names and logos belong to their owners, and gotin is not affiliated with or endorsed by them.
The firm whose client folders live in SharePoint.
Documents arrive in gotin, but the working copy belongs in the client's folder. Downloading and uploading again by hand is where files go missing.
Open the request
Your key opens the files on your device.
Choose where it goes
It goes to gotin's own folder in your OneDrive. You sign in to Microsoft in your own browser. Saving to a SharePoint library comes later.
Your browser sends it
Straight to Microsoft. Our servers are not in the path and never hold the opened file.
Delete the sealed copy
Delete it from gotin when you are done, or let it go on its date.
From your device to Microsoft. Not through us.
What Microsoft holds
- The opened file, in the folder you chose
- Whatever your Microsoft settings do with it from there
What our servers hold
- The sealed copy, until it is deleted
- Not the opened file, the folder or your Microsoft sign-in
A limit to know
- Once saved, the file is as protected as the rest of your OneDrive. It is no longer end to end encrypted.
The save happens in your browser.
From your browser
The save runs in your browser, with a permission you give Microsoft there.
Only where you point
gotin asks Microsoft for the narrowest permission there is: saving into its own folder, and nowhere else.
Other storage
Box and Egnyte are planned the same way.
